Declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2009 and recognized as one of the world's most precious ecosystems, Fuerteventura offers a stunning landscape of Natural Parks, volcanic monuments, ancient caves, and vast plains with a unique biodiversity.
As the oldest of the eight Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is often called the "Mother Island." Shaped by twenty million years of volcanic activity, it presents a landscape of powerful contrasts set within a pristine environment.

OUR ROUTE
Cabrita Gravel 400K
After leaving the village of El Cotillo, you will follow a mixed sand and gravel track along the north coast towards Corralejo, entering a fast gravel section through the charming volcanic area.
Following a short descent, you reach the village of Jablito. From here, take the dirt track along the east coast, passing through Puerto del Rosario (the island’s capital), and continue towards Las Salinas. This marks the start of a beautiful and challenging series of "rolling hills" leading to the fishing village of Pozo Negro.
From the East Coast to the Heart of the Island
Once you reach CP1 in Valles de Ortega, you will follow a stunning red dirt road crossing the heart of the island into the Jandía Natural Park, where you’ll traverse the magnificent Sotavento Beach. A dedicated bike path leads you to Morro Jable, the gateway to a breathtaking 30 km off-road track.
Wild Landscapes: Cofete and Jandia Lighthouse
This path climbs towards the iconic Cofete Beach before reaching CP2 at the Jandía Lighthouse. From CP2, the route heads north, passing through the village of La Pared, the Cardon wind farm, and the challenging climb to Mirador Risco de las Peñas, where CP3 is located.
The Final Stretch to El Cotillo
From CP3, a spectacular road leads to the picturesque village of Los Molinos. Here begins the final long stretch of dirt road, taking you past the famous whale skeleton in El Cotillo, the official finish line of Cabrita Gravel.
This is more than just a track; it is the most authentic gravel bike event in Fuerteventura, designed to show you the wild soul of the island.
INFORMATION & ADVICE

El Cotillo is a charming fishing village on the west coast of Fuerteventura. It is located 45 km from the airport (approx. 40 minutes by car/taxi or up to 1.5 hours via the airport shuttle bus). You will find a wide range of accommodation options, including hotels, B&Bs, and rural houses.
WEATHER IN FEBRUARY
Expect warm days and balmy evenings. The average daily maximum temperature ranges between 20-22°C, with minimums around 13-15°C. Sunrise is approximately at 07:15 and sunset at 18:00. Fuerteventura is known for its wind; during this period, expect an average speed of 18-20 km/h, mainly from the North-North East.
BIKE AND GEAR
Recommended Bike: A gravel bike with 40-45 mm tubeless tires is highly recommended for this terrain.
Mandatory Safety Gear: High-quality night lighting systems, reflective cycling jackets, and emergency blankets are strictly mandatory for all participants.
Maintenance: A comprehensive tool kit is essential to handle any mechanical issues during the adventure.
Resupply: Food and water are available in local bars and shops during the day (typically closing around 20:00, or earlier on weekends).
Warning: There are no public fountains along the route. It is vital to always carry sufficient water.

During accreditation, it is mandatory to present a valid ID card and proof of insurance. You will also be required to sign the rider agreement. Please note: without valid insurance and a signed agreement, participation in the event will not be permitted.

The official start will take place in El Cotillo. Ensure your GPS tracking system is active and your gear is fully prepared for the departure.

Welcome back to El Cotillo! Celebrate your finish with the community.
13:00 – 16:00 | Finisher Party: Beer & Paella
